面對勇士在總冠軍賽第4戰變陣奇襲，「小皇帝」詹姆斯昨天堅持騎士無須跟著起舞，今天第5戰續用原來先發即可，「我們只需打自己的球，畢竟都已走這麼遠了，我們會去適應，不用更換我們先發陣容。」
老實講，就算騎士想換先發，也沒什麼選擇，洛夫、厄文兩大主力先後傷退，J.R.史密斯又在總冠軍賽低迷，命中率僅2成98，前役三分球更是8投0中，狀況差到連詹姆斯都親自鼓勵史密斯放膽去投。
倘若換下先發中鋒莫茲戈夫，同樣用小陣容跟勇士對決，騎士等同把內線優勢拱手讓人，況且莫茲戈夫前役攻下季後賽新高28分，騎士當然無須變陣，詹姆斯說：「這次我們有所準備，再遇『五小』陣容也沒差。」
最近因為保守調度遭到抨擊的騎士總教練布拉特，昨用「官話」回應是否考慮重用麥克米勒、馬里昂兩名老將，「我們雖有不少大賽經驗豐富的老手，可惜他們太久沒打了，就算不用他們，球隊仍有好的表現。」
比起布拉特的保守，勇士總教練科爾顯得大膽許多，除了坦承前役變陣是28歲總教練特助烏倫建議，他更不想說出今天是否延續前役先發，甚至自嘲，「反正我是習慣說謊的人，就算我現在回答，你們也不會相信。」
